All I can say is, there was a lot less information about it available in 2011, when I spent an afternoon Googling obsessively. I can't go there. I thought John Carter was deeply flawed but also had a lot of greatness. If Stanton had allowed someone to go into the editing booth and cut out all of the excess, you could have had one of the year's best films. There's a great movie in John Carter, bogged down by junk.
