This is an excellent point — an all-powerful hero has to have a more stringent code to avoid just swatting people like flies, and that's more interesting to watch. I liked that about the Spectre, back when Ostrander was writing him. Read more

Yeah, agreed that there's a reason for that ultra-sanitized violence... but the dissolving into liquid thing is becoming another one of the show's new cliches. And yes, it is a show for little kids, and we're a lot less forgiving than we used to be about scarring children for life. Read more

Yup, they really lean on that motif a lot. There are a number of motifs that get leant on quite a bit, including the "monster picks up a random phrase that someone said and repeats it over and over," which we've seen before a few times. And creatures/monsters dissolving into clouds of liquid. Read more

I would still give the edge to "A Christmas Carol" because it had a somewhat better overall story, but I liked this one wayyy more than last year's Narnia-thing. Read more

Plus, he's invulnerable and can fly and can stop you from a hundred miles away with his super-breath and his heat vision. He doesn't really have to get his hands dirty most of the time. Read more
