Having been through a number of traumatic redesigns, I can tell you that many people simply have a knee jerk negative reaction to change because it forces them to relearn parts of the site. Glad you like the redesign...yeah, moving all of the post information (author, time stamp, comment and view count, etc) into one area makes it easier to see what's going on quickly. Read more

The goal of the new design was to open up the page. The previous design make the page feel very boxed in. Try comparing to another Gawker Media site like Gizmodo. We think this is a step forward. Read more

I'm not exactly sure what side scrolling you're referring to? Do you mean the 1 pane / 2 pane option that is explained in the video above? If so, click the little icon to fix the sidebar to the page and eliminate the side scrolling. Read more
