Great way to make sure you're not getting ripped off by a crooked mechanic: Pull the code yourself before taking the car in for service and compare notes with the tech. Not saying to bait the guy into a trap, but if you say when bring it in something like, "I pulled the codes from the OBDII port and it says I need a Read more

A great wrench set, for sure, but I swear by GearWrench's X-Beam ratchets. They're twisted so you apply force to the flatter dimension of the wrench instead of the thin profile. One of the only real rethinkings of the combination wrenches in a very long time. Have used these to restore 4 motorcycles so far.

Argument in favor of the plastic V60: The ceramic one can cool your brew down and encourage underextraction. So if you don't have a pretty large hot water supply, it can be tricky to get the porcelain up to temp and have enough water to last the brew. Obvs, easy to get around, but just another good option that happens

We had almost the exact same set. The only difference I can see is that ours had brass handles on the sides. Got it from my grandmother's house after she died—it replaced set we destroyed. Mom had that thing until she got a flat-screen a few years ago. Read more

My first console (not counting Commodore 64) was NES. I loved that thing. But it never replaced arcades for me. There was just something about going to Blimpie and getting my ass kicked at Street Fighter II by a 7 year-old that made the console seem less exciting. I used to get so nervous when it was my turn to Read more
