It's not "bad" for plants (heck many sativa strains are still grown outdoors due to their massive height at maturity) but it has many more environmental variables and threats (deer, frost, sleet, aphids, snails, etc). The happy medium is to plant outdoors but in an enclosed green house or grow tent. Read more
