I suppose it was because after Charon we got into the First Contact Wars, then all the Citadel stuff and finding other Mass Relays just meant we didn't really bother looking at systems that close when we could now colonise out much further into the galaxy, and into Citadel Council space. Read more

It's not in the actual game - it just showed up on the news ticker in the main menu as a little in-universe tidbit. Read more

In the Mass Effect universe, Mass Effect 2's main menu had a 'Cerberus Daily News' ticker that ran in-universe news items during the year of the game's release. Read more

I was gonna say, he makes a fantastic Shepard, but he's not Matt Smithy enough to live up to his name - no floppy hair or big chin for starters! Read more

Thanks for questioning my intelligence and the fact that 'individual maps' and 'individual map packs' both mean different things. I'm quite capable of understanding words just fine - I asked because I wanted to clarify. Even Kate admitted it was a typo which she has since corrected. But no, I'm retarded for asking a Read more

Wait, the wording has me a little confused. So they're not doing map packs anymore? You can either buy individual maps when they launch, or just get the season pass to get them all? Or is that meant to be 'Map packs', rather than 'Maps' in the article? Read more

It depends. By all means, charge ahead against normal abominations (beware that their small explosion on death can put you into a stun animation, leaving you vulnerable), Troopers and Captains - but I'd avoid trying to get up close with Swarms (because of their power cooldown dampening), Possessed Abominations Read more

The Collectors are a really great challenge to fight against. The Collectors are really good at changing the way you're used to fighting opponents in ME3 MP - you can't just hunker down in one place and power spam your way to victory. The swarms (which, if they latch onto you, slow down your power cooldowns to a Read more

My Volus has been insta-vote kicked 3 times today - people seem really annoyed about playing with them! Dunno why, because the Engineer is an AMAZING support class. Multiple times I've saved the collective asses of my team by going cloaked to revive all 3 other players, before topping up their shields with a Shield Read more

I will be spending the week as a Jetpacking Turian, until X-Com hits Friday here in the UK. Read more

Thank god Bioware revealed that Mass Effect stuff for Tuesday, because I'm going to need something to get me going till next Friday. X-Com was one of those games that I was like 'oh, neat!' and then promptly forgot about when it was announced, but as it's got closer and closer, almost out of nowhere to me, I've Read more

Definitely Turian. The link to the Blog has a picture of the Turian Havoc (Soldier class), with the other 'new' class being the Turian Ghost (infiltrator).

Oh man, it's been long enough since the Earth stuff that I'd be pumped enough for just about anything, but... Awesome trailer (huzzah for the Shadow representation, the badass character that she is) with awesome music? Cool, random environmental hazards? Collectors to fight? Challenge customisation stuff? Fucking Read more

It wasn't really riding on the highs of Wrath that saw the significant sales boost, really - Cataclysm got a massive boost in general, wider interest because it was marketed as an expansion that didn't just add to the endgame, but one that also represented the turning of a new leaf for WoW's lifespan with all the old Read more

Yeah, these sales don't include China's launch - they only got MoP two days ago. It'll be interesting to see if the content of the expansion leads to an increase in sales there, as many MoP detractors complained that Blizzard were pandering to asian audiences with the Pandaren. We'll find out soon enough, I suppose. Read more

WoW may be confined by its archaic engine, but that doesn't mean the graphics are updated. Just look at the facial models of the Humans, Orcs and other base races compared to the Worgen, Goblin and Pandaren. Look at the texture detail on the loot you get in Outland compared to the loot you get in Pandaria. Read more
