Chris Anderson Is no Longer Editor-in-Chief of WIRED (UPDATED)

Well this is surprising. After 10 years at the helm, Chris Anderson is leaving WIRED Magazine to focus on his startup, 3D Robotics.

Here's the official note sent out by Conde Nast CEO Chuck Townsend:

We've reached out for an official comment, but the likely move would be for Executive Editor Thomas Goetz to take the reigns while Conde Nast does a wide search for the next Fearless Leader. That said, Goetz has been extremely silent on twitter since the news broke.

We'll keep you posted.

UPDATE: not leaving just yet

We reached out to Chris, and it turns out he's not leaving sooooo imminently:

We'll let you know more as we hear it.
