This week in the world of cartoons, Adventure Time's Finn gets stabbed in the rear by a well-meaning porcupine, we get a very cool droid-centric episode of Clone Wars, and there's a duel on My Little Pony! Yeah, really. A duel.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is off this week, but will return on December 8th.
As always - minor spoilers ahead!
Star Wars: The Clone Wars – "Secret Weapons"
With the Youngling arc behind us, Clone Wars turns its attention to the unheralded heroes of the Star Wars saga, the droids.
R2-D2 is one of a handful of droids in the service of Jedi Knights and Republic officials selected for a secret mission that takes them deep into a Separatist stronghold.
There are some really great scenes in this episode, including a briefing scene reminiscent to the one in A New Hope. R2-D2 also gets some new equipment.
The mix of well-placed comedic moments and an interesting storyline has the makings of an instant classic.
Adventure Time – "Up a Tree"
Finn and Jake start this episode off with a game of catch.
The game ends with a porcupine claiming he can propel Finn into the air by stabbing him in the butt. Can't say I've seen that before.
Comedian Marc Maron (from of the amazing WTF with Marc Maron podcast) makes an appearance in this episode as a squirrel. That's a man comfortable with his place in this world.
The great people behind Adventure Time released the animatics for a portion of this episode, with the original storyboard and voice over for the previous clip shown here.
Regular Show – "One Pull Up"
can you do one pull up? Well...uh..I can't. The government passed a ruling requiring park employees to ace a fitness test in order to keep their jobs. This poses a problem for Rigby.
Dragons: Riders of Berk – "Thawfest"
How could you make the Olympics better? Add Vikings and Flying Dragons! Michael Phelps doesn't stand a chance.
Hiccup and Snotlout face off in the Thaw Games in this episode and in this clip.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic – "Magic Duel"
Trixie is back in Ponyville, and she's looking to cause some trouble.
Twilight Sparkle and Trixie face off in a magic duel in this episode.
