Sometimes deals are too good to last. It happened this past weekend: Amazon rolled out a Square Enix bundle pack with Just Cause 2, and it sold out in hours. It was supposed to last a week. But sometimes disappointment brings opportunity: Amazon replaced it with a blanket coupon code, which, fittingly, can be used to save on another excellent Square Enix game—Sleeping Dogs.
Our sibling site Kotaku gave Sleeping Dogs a glowing review. It's an open world game—think Grand Theft Auto—but set in a moody Hong Kong with a heavy dose of kung fu fighting. You're a undercover cop trying to infiltrate the triad. Have you ever seen the classic Infernal Affairs? It's like that, but interactive. Kotaku's Tina Amini put it best: "I'm pretty sure I shouldn't think being a triad is cool, but... being a triad is totally cool."
You can download the PC version from Amazon for $18.75 after applying the coupon code SQRLUVOC. It's still almost full price on consoles, and when you play it on the computer you can download added textures to make Hong Kong really pop. According to Kotaku's review, it offers about 15 hours of playtime, which makes this a pretty good value in terms of entertainment hours. And if that's not enough game for you, there's some crazy cool downloadable content coming soon that you'll need this base game to play.
Amazon's 25% off code SQRLUVOC works on all downloadable games with a few exceptions, so if you've got your eye on another weekend-kiling game, share it with us in the comments. [Amazon]
