GoPro just announced their newest action camera, the GoPro Hero 3, which comes with some excellent new improvements—it's smaller, lighter and faster. Plus, they've thrown in (wonderfully useless) 4k recording at 15 frames per second. It's a nice piece of kit, but what does this mean for deal hunters? You can now get the Go Pro Hero2—which Brent Rose called possibly "the best sports cam ever"—for a significant discount.
Amazon's got the GoPro Hero 2 for 33% off today—thanks price matching!—that brings the total down to a bargain at $200. GoPros are hardcore, durable cameras meant for recording action, like skating, surfing, and action sports of all stripes. But what good is footage if it doesn't look excellent? The GoPro Hero2 is our Battlemodo-winning action cam because it produces vibrant video, with great color, all at 1080p.
You don't need to be a professional at the X-Games to have fun with this camera: drop it from a building, or give it to a seagull, or attach it to your dog and get a puppy's eye view! It's durable, so it won't break, but at this price, it's not like you have to be extra careful with it. [Amazon]
